The phrase, "To know them is to love them" aptly applies to the
Bluegrace Mountain Band. Bluegrace Mountain Band began back in 2002 as one
of the Worship Teams at The First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gypsum Colorado.
They quickly began showing up at many local events where high energy entertainment
was needed, and have become known around the Vail and Eagle Valley as the
Band with the kid who can really play the Fiddle.
In addition to the kid who can really play the Fiddle "Fiddlin Phil Kramer"
age 12, they are also enjoying the talents of Bill Britt , the Quiet, Shy,
one who gets more hits on his bio page than anyone else in the band.
Bill plays guitar and can ocassionally be coaxed into singing.
Steve DeGroat is another member of the band who is an integral part
of the Bluegrace Sound. He plays his personally handcrafted
" Storm King Mandolin" which helps drive the band into it's fast paced,
toe tapping, bluegrass style. Steve has also been one of the first members
of the band to include original piece's of music into the bands set list.
Dave and Julee Kramer have been performing together since they were
kids growing up in Brighton Colorado. Dave claims that as a kid, Julee used to
follow him around. But Julee contends that it was only because she marched
behind him in summer marching band. They have been friends for over 33 years
and have been married since 1991. In Bluegrace Mountain Band they handle both
lead and harmony vocals, banjo, guitar, upright bass and a couple of not to be
missed, Celtic recorder duets. They are also the parents of Fiddlin' Phil.
This trio of Kramer's also enjoys playing at small venues as the trio
"Phil and the Folks." Fiddlin' Phil is hoping soon to change the name of this
band to "Fill in the Blanks". His parents don't think this will happen in
the near future.
